Filtering unwanted (SPAM) email with Microsoft Outlook

Start Microsoft Outlook.

1) Click Tools -> Rules Wizard...





2) Rules Wizard window will appear. Click [ Next ].





3) Select "Check messages when they arrive" and click [ Next ].





4) Select "with specific words in the message header".





5) Click on "specific words" in the bottom part of the window.
A small pop-up window will appear. Type in: X-Spam-Score: ******
Click [ OK ]

The number of stars (*) you type in will decide your anti-spam policy:
More stars = More relaxed filtering. Less email will get marked as SPAM.
Possibly some email will be SPAM but will not be marked as such.

Less stars = Tougher filtering. More emails will get marked as SPAM.
Possibly some email will be marked as SPAM, but will not be SPAM.





6) Click [ Next ].





7) Select "move it to the specified folder".





8) Click on "specified" in the bottom part of the window.
Another window will pop up, with a list of your folders.

If you already have a folder where you want to put incoming email marked as SPAM, proceed to step 11.
Otherwise, if you want to create a folder to put emails marked as SPAM in, click [ New ... ].





9) Type in the name of the folder you want to create, where email marked as SPAM will go into.
We recommend to name this folder SPAM.





10) If a window like the one shown here pops up, select "Don't prompt me about this again." and click [ No ].





11) You created a folder where the email marked as SPAM will go, or you selected the existing one.
Click [ OK ] to return to the main "Rules Wizard" window.





12) Click [ Next ].





13) Click [ Next ].





14) Specify a name for the rule you just created, and click on [ Finish ].





15) Your rule has been created. Click [ OK ].





16) We are back at your main Outlook screen. The rule has been created, and it is in effect.
Watch your incoming email go to the spam folder.
